Chimney Inspection Services by Our Pros
The byproduct of enjoying a crackling flame is creosote buildup — the major cause of chimney fires — and soot, which can restrict airflow and damage the fireplace chimney. Even a gas fireplace chimney can become blocked by a bird's nest or other debris.
Prevent problems with an annual chimney inspection.
Inspection Levels Explained
Standard Annual Inspection
A Level 1 chimney inspection includes a visual check of the fireplace and chimney without any special equipment or roof access. We look for damage, obstructions, creosote buildup, and soot — sweeping on the spot if needed.
Defined in NFPA 211 — required annually.
Comprehensive Inspection
A Level 2 chimney inspection includes everything in Level 1 plus roof access, attic and crawl space inspection, and video camera scanning. Concludes with a full written report.
Required per NFPA 211 on real estate transfer or after a chimney fire.
Invasive / Destructive Inspection
A Level 3 inspection is typically done after a chimney fire or when Level 2 findings suggest hidden damage. May involve removing wall sections or chimney components to assess structural integrity.

“Hired Genesis for dryer vent cleaning after a friend's recommendation. The tech was on time, explained exactly what he found (a pretty serious lint clog), and had it cleaned in 45 minutes. House smells better and I feel a lot safer. Five stars without hesitation.”

“I found Genesis through Angi and could not be happier. They came out the next day for a chimney inspection before we started using our fireplace for the season. Technician was thorough, honest, and didn't try to upsell anything unnecessary. Will be booking them every year.”

“Amazing work from Genesis! They came in and worked with my vision to convert one of our fireplaces to gas log and retrofit the other with a gas fire starter. Not only did they take the time to understand exactly what I wanted and make a clear plan, but they even got up on the roof and found a few other critical issues that needed fixing. They handled a long list of items, coordinating and negotiating with other vendors to get everything done quickly and done right — from roof and chimney work to running new gas lines to sweeping. The end result was a custom solution that fit our home perfectly and looks incredible. I can't say enough about the quality of their work, timeliness, and professionalism. Highly recommend!”

“I couldn't be happier with Genesis Home Services! David, our technician, was nothing short of amazing. He arrived promptly and immediately zeroed in on the issue. His commitment to getting the job done quickly and efficiently was impressive, but what really stood out was his kindness and professionalism throughout the entire process. David's ability to provide a swift diagnosis went above and beyond my expectations. It's rare to find a service that's both fast and thorough, and Genesis Home Services nailed it. Highly recommend Genesis Home Services to anyone in need.”
